Her work is rooted in the tradition of realistic painting, and she focuses primarily on landscapes, still lifes, floral motifs, and portraits. She studied fine and decorative arts at Oles Honchar National University in Dnipro and later at the Academy of Realistic Art in Kyiv.

A characteristic feature of her painting is a warm color palette, light, attention to detail, and impasto application of paint, which gives the paintings a sense of three-dimensionality and immediacy. In her paintings, they become more than just a decorative element – they are a symbol of life, beauty, hope, and joy. Her Nitra paintings can therefore also be seen as a personal artistic tribute to the city where she lives and works.

Julia Tomesko regularly participates in domestic and international art plein air events, group and solo exhibitions.
