Dušan Stieranka is one of the artists whose painting is rooted in the classical tradition of oil painting, sensitive observation of nature, and a refined approach to color and light. His work features landscapes, still lifes, and floral motifs, as well as urban and figurative subjects.
His work is characterized by a peaceful, lyrical atmosphere and harmonious color palette. His paintings are not dramatic; rather, they invite the viewer to pause and quietly contemplate the subject. In his landscapes, he captures the atmosphere of a specific place, while his still lifes and floral compositions highlight his sense of decorativeness, detail, and soft lighting.
Stieranka’s painting follows the realist tradition, enriching it with a more relaxed, at times impressionistic, perception of light and color relationships. An important part of his work is the painting technique itself—working with oil paint, layering it, and applying it with texture creates a pleasing depth and softness on the canvas.
His works appeal primarily to viewers who seek beauty, tranquility, and a natural atmospherein art, and who see a painting not only as a work of art but also as a harmonious part of an interior.
