The original watercolor captures a picturesque view of Main Square — soft light and the atmosphere of the city center in a single composition, ready to hang and display immediately in an interior. The painting evokes the peaceful atmosphere of a sun-drenched city. A tranquil scene with delicate brushstrokes and a pleasant palette of warm colors. The work stands out for the lightness of the watercolor technique. Paper 21 × 30 cm; framed 32.5 × 42.5 cm.
Julia Tomesko is a Ukrainian painter living and working in Slovakia. In her work, she draws on the tradition of realistic painting and focuses mainly on landscape painting, still life, floral motifs, and portraiture. She studied fine and decorative arts at Oles Honchar National University in Dnipro and subsequently at the Academy of Realistic Art in Kyiv.
A characteristic feature of her painting is warm colors, light, attention to detail, and impasto application of paint, which gives the paintings plasticity and immediacy. In her works, the realistic depiction of reality naturally combines with a personal, emotional perception of the subject.
An important place in her current work is occupied by Nitra and its surroundings, where the artist finds inspiration in architecture, streets, landscapes, and especially flowers. In her paintings, they become more than just a decorative element — they are a symbol of life, beauty, hope, and joy. Her Nitra paintings can therefore also be seen as a personal artistic tribute to the city where she lives and works.
Julia Tomesko regularly participates in domestic and international art plein air events, group and solo exhibitions. Her works have been presented in Slovakia and abroad and are in private collections in various countries. Since 2026, she has also been presented at exhibitions of the Slovak Union of Fine Artists.
