Julia Tomesko is a Ukrainian painter living and working in Slovakia. Her work is rooted in the tradition of realistic painting, and she focuses primarily on landscapes, backyard scenes, floral motifs, and portraits. She studied fine and decorative arts at Oles Honchar National University in Dnipro and later at the Academy of Realistic Art in Kyiv.
A characteristic feature of her painting is a warm color palette, light, attention to detail, and impasto, which gives the paintings a sense of volume and immediacy. In her works, the realistic depiction of reality is naturally combined with a personal, emotional perception of the subject.
An important place in her current work is occupied by Nitra and its surroundings, where the artist finds inspiration in architecture, streets, landscapes, and especially flowers. In her paintings, they become more than just a decorative element – they are a symbol of life, beauty, hope, and joy. Her Nitra paintings can therefore also be seen as a personal artistic tribute to the city where she lives and works.
Julia Tomesko regularly participates in domestic and international plein air painting events, group and solo exhibitions. Her works have been presented in Slovakia and abroad and are held in private collections in various countries. Since 2026, she has also been featured in exhibitions organized by the Slovak Union of Fine Artists.
