Handmade Easter egg decorated with wirework
This unique Easter egg is the result of meticulous handcraftsmanship, combining traditional Slovak craft with the artist's creative vision. Each piece is an original – the wire is hand-shaped into delicate ornaments reminiscent of plant tendrils and historic filigree patterns.
The metal ornament elegantly follows the shape of the eggshell, creating a harmonious composition full of lightness and elegance. In the case of a colored Easter egg, the dark background contrasts beautifully with the shine of the metal, while the open wirework version highlights the airiness and delicacy of the construction itself.

Wirework is one of the traditional Slovak crafts, with roots dating back to the 18th century. Thin metal wire is used to make this Easter egg, which is bent, twisted, and interlocked by hand without soldering to form a sturdy ornamental mesh.
Each ornament is created by gradually shaping individual loops, spirals, and arches using pliers. The wire is mechanically joined and reinforced by intertwining, creating a sturdy yet exceptionally delicate construction.
In the colored version, the wire is applied directly to a natural or prepared eggshell. In the open version, the wire itself forms a self-supporting spatial construction that maintains the characteristic egg shape without the use of any internal support material.
